Just another confirmation - H&Rs on standard (Boge) dampers on a '90 C2 with not a problem in sight.

No - got the springs around 1995 and renewed the dampers around 2002, IIRC.

My car has the original dampers that badly need replacing. I've never considered having them "renewed" and don't even know if it's possible. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone doing so here in the US. I assume it's because the cost of a new set of Bilsteins or Konis is comparable but I don't know for sure.

Ahh - I think this may be something lost in translation, Chris - for 'renewed' read 'replaced'...
