Red Rooster,
What part of the sender rusts out? The backing plate that bolts onto the tank?

The oil will wick under the protective braiding.

They should have sent you an .04 part number. Make sure that the vendor/dealer that you bought the hose from lets PCNA know that they are sending out the wrong part.

Silly maybe, but about the small rubber hoses 26, 30 that are wet in your pic. Have you tried just to tighten the clamps a turn or two? The come a little loose with age. I changed those a month ago but their condition weren't that bad. The clamps were a little loose and the dirt made it look worse than it was.

ThomasC2, was it difficult to change hoses 26,30? (ie, without pulling the tank) If not I might change them as a preventative measure.

Jason,

18 , a stainless plate , always looks ok. 14 , has the steel plate bolted to the tank.
I have seen 14 s , actually covered in heavy rust and one was perforated !!

Just undo the two 8mm nuts on the top of 18 , wiggly the 18-plate off and take a look at 14 .

Just a warning that is worth knowing about ?

The upper hose, with the bump on it was a bit tight so I had to undo two of the visible bolds that holds the oiltank to get some flex. I friend of mine then pulled the tank 1-1,5 cm outwards, that gave me enough room to push on the hose. It's a bit stiff so a friend is useful! The lower hose was really easy.

Well I took everyones advice and I am ordered the following:

* Oil line from Console to the Tank (expensive little bugger)
* 2 little hoses (26 & 30)
* Oil Level Sender

Hopefully that will suffice in this area for a while.
