RSA Whale Tail
The grille portion of my RSA Whale Tail is fading from black to silver.
Anyone Remove the grille to repaint it???
If so how??
I think I see what I need to do, but some help would be good.
Thanks

Is it painted?
I believe the part is black plastic and becomes dried and silvery looking given enough exposure to UV light. Just like the grils on the standard movable tails. I would remove it and soak it in Vinylex This will help return it back to its natural black color and protect it from UV light. It may take several applications but I have done this to fading black plastic pieces before and they came back to life looking almost new.

It is painted unlike the Turbo Tails. It is the metal part that has lost some of the paint. I am going to try to remove it now and paint it flat black again. I'll take photos to document it too.

If you are asking about the metal screen that's below the fiberglass louvers, you have to take the whole tail off, unbolt the screen from below, repaint and reinstall. The A/C condenser is a bit of a pain but it's not too tough of a job. I had mine in a light hail storm that put little dimples all over, pulled it out to fix and repaint. Rustolium satin black matched pretty close.

Any details on how to actually remove the whale tail??
