High Level Brake Lights Mods.......??
Guys,
I've just installed a 993 high level brake light during my car refurb for both styling and safety reasons (it's a small car compared to others, quite low down with so-so rear lights) and wondered whether one of these brake light pulsers might be a good idea?
See here http://www.webelectricproducts.com/products.htm and look under brake light pulser.
I can see how it would be distracting to a driver following but might it confuse them before they actually hit the brakes (maybe too late) or be enough to make them think f*@k, BRAKE NOW?!?! Please note it doesn't pulse continually on frequent brake applications when crawling along in traffic.
I'm in the UK and this isn't a common feature on cars as far as I'm aware over here but maybe more so in the US etc?
Is it a appropriate on a Porsche or is that a pretentious question??
Is pretty cheap too!!
Thoughts please,
Gary

I've only seen them here on big trucks here is the US, never on cars. I agree it may be distracting, also looks as if your 3rd brake light connection ig going bad

I have one! They are used on motorcycles. The one I installed pulses once for 2 seconds, then flashes 3 times, the pulses back on for 2 seconds. I tell you, it keeps people off your tail and its very bright. I installed mine right next to the brake pedal with a simple disconnect switch.

I have seen a lot of them on motorcycles lately. I think it is a good idea on the bikes because it attracts your attention and makes you pay attention to it. Don't think it can hurt on our cars, either. Go for it.

If you really want to wake them up get some LED red lights with a couple blue LEDs. Wakes people up because only the cops have those.

Gary, think long and hard about this. Pulsed brake lights and sequential indicators are not legal here in the UK. You will fail your MOT and probably also annoy the boys in blue

Thanks for comments guys.....
Harry, I didn't realise that a pulsing additional brake light would not pass an MOT?? I thought as long as the tail-lights were standard then all would be OK. I certainly would'nt be doing any indicator mods as there are no extra bulbs to sequent with......and I think they look crap anyway.
