3: Paint calipers red (change rears to four pistons)
4: Paint rear deck lid black.

Are you having the wheels done professionally?

Mike_964 01-16-2007 06:18 AM

No all is DIY.
Especially since the wheels could get smashed again on the first track day like last year ;-)

Regarding the painting of the deck lid, before and after pictures please!!

Any week now I'll be dropping my wheels off to get redone (powder coated). They're charging me $149 per wheel. Included in that they will mount my tires.

I'm going flat or satin black, I hope it's not a mistake.

I almost decided to paint them black as well, but then my car would be all black in black and I wasn't sure if it was to much, please post pics when you get them back on the car, I might have to reconsider :)
I actually had to buy the Würth silber paint from UK, so that was another reason for chosing another color (bought 3 cans just in case) ;)

I am thinking about getting the Hollow spoke twist Powder coated. Will that hold up as good or better then paint? Also is $149 a good reference number for possible cost?

Just thought I would show some pictures of the final results.
Sorry for the unclean car, but it has been parked in a garage for 4 month now.

Nice work, your wheels look great. Do the 4 piston calipers bolt right up to the rear of the early 964s or do you use some type of adapter?

What do you think of the blue LED light conversion?
