Tranny/Flywheel noise..should there be any at all?
#2
Is this noise you are worried about only there when you have the clutch depressed? How about when the tranny is out of gear, but the clutch is not pressed?
My trannny has some gear whine, but I don't notice anything else.

It's very difficult to diagnose noise issues over thee web, but....
Do you have a light weight flywheel fitted? If so, then it's pretty normal to hear gearbox clatter. If you have the standard Dual Mass Flywheel fitted then you shouldn't hear it that much, if at all. The DMF was designed to reduce the noise as much as possible.

Andy is correct - Aluminum flywheel and an RS clutch will sound a bit noisy like the throwout bearing is bad at an idle (without the clutch depressed). If the thing makes a clattering and it's the stock dual-mass flywheel - you've got issues.
