Which dampers/springs are they? Spring rates? Do you track the car at all?

More track than street is the aim. I think the comfort is quite OK actually.

Spring rates are 800 lbs/inch Front and 1000 lbs/inch Rear. They are H&R:

I've considered JIC/CROSS, PSS9 and the H&R for the 993, but i'd not seen what the H&R setup looked like in detail.

Are the monoballs on the H&R's part of the standard kit or extra?

I'm still debating the pros/cons of the PSS9 vs. JIC but leaning heavily towards the PSS9 for access to shops that can rebuild/revalve them as well as the adjuster being at the base of the rear shock as opposed to the top where the JIC/CROSS seem to have them (not exactly a great place for quick access).

Are the H&R's adjustable and if so are the adjusters on the tops of both front/rear? THX! (sorry if this thread it heading off into the weeds, I think the info here is good though!).

Dear friends,

>Are the monoballs on the H&R's part of the standard kit or extra?

They have a myriad of options some of them complete with monoballs. Actually, some was camberplates/ monoball almost for free!

I would suggest Moton if you want advanced adjutability.

On these there is no bounce or rebounce adjustment without revalveing. Height is adjustable so is camber.

I'll have a set of HD's and RSA H/R lowering springs for sale very soon - hardly used in case anyone is interested.

When I purchased the car the splitter was already installed by Champion Racing of Pompano Beach FL. I did not ask the make, but I will gladly look for a stamp of origin the next time I raise the front end and post. Cheers

A collegue of mine at work has a 993 that he lowered with some H&R springs with the stock shock s and he says that there is a cluncking noise from the back of the car.

I want to lower mine and would like to install the setup with the least issues for example;

* wierd noises
*too harsh a ride
*excessive tire wear
etc.

So anyone have any negative issues with the set up on their car?

I have my car lowered for about 5 years and my only serious regret is that I should have done it much sooner. I've had the car for 14 years. Tire wear is the same.

My setup
H&R spings
Biltstein HD shocks
17" Cup1 wheels
Stock alignment

The only significant negative item I have is that I have to watch for curbs and steep driveway entrances. I have to enter them slowly or at an angle. The only other item to consider is, are you planning on driving the car in the winter? Lowering it reduces the snow drift clearance.

My advice is to drive a car that has been lowered and experience the ride and handling yourself before spending money on a particular lowering package. Once I had driven a friends car, I knew that I would love it.
