Here's a simple connector I made.

1.) Go to Radio Shack and buy a Molex pin connector for PC power supplies. They are the perfect diameter.
2.) Go to post #51 of this thread https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ferrerid=49328 for the Amp drawing and make yourself a 1:1 scale template of the pin locations (7, 8, 10, and 12).
3.) Steal one of your wife's or girlfriends 1/2" thick (or thereabouts), nylon or plastic cutting boards.
4.) Get a 1-5/8" hole drill and drill out a 1-1/2" dia plug from the cutting board. You may want to drill out two because you will likely mirror your first attempt at drilling the pin pattern. It's your decision whether you want to return the cutting board.
5.) Using your template locate the pin pattern, drill, and simply push the Molex pins through after soldering the wires to the pins, and carve in the 3 notches to key it.

Total cost: about 5 bucks

I know Doug B's software only requires those four pins but can I make the suggestion to add pin #14 (RPM) and #19 (Knocking) to future-proof your connector.

Good suggestion, Jason. I just bought 6 conductor shielded to add the two pins. Tell me something, should I use pin #13 or #12 for power. I thought that the car should be warmed up, and idling to read meaningful codes, settings and to do the idle adaptation, which implies the scantool should be powered from pin #13.

Thanks, Kevin

The Bosch hammer uses pin #12 but the control units will only listen to the L line if Term 15 is live, except for (I think) the alarm or the airbag control unit? There are certain features/functions that are missing from Doug's software that require the engine to be turned off but that won't affect your choice of pin #12 or #13. I would stick with what the Hammer does.
