Thumbs up

Here are my test results. I am using Andy W's interface with an old desktop PC in my garage. I converted the temp readings to °C in the scantool.cfg file.

I ran the adaptation process, and scantool says the adaptation has been completed, but I noticed very little before/after difference, if anything at all. Since my car is an option 150 car (no O2 sensor, no cat), I suspect there is nothing to adapt in the DME, but I cannot be sure.

Yes, just got my interface working this evening. Give me a day or two to get some numbers.

The graphs have limited utility without the load variable (AFM/MAS), e.g. injection time which
is totally meaningless.
Basically, the graphs need to be three dimensional.

"I ran the adaptation process, and scantool says the adaptation has been completed, but I noticed very little before/after difference, if anything at all. Since my car is an option 150 car (no O2 sensor, no cat), I suspect there is nothing to adapt in the DME, but I cannot be sure."

It only affects the DME idle values.

Stephen... Very interesting... In particular the ingnition advance graph. I wonder though if these graphs and numbers can be skewed a little. I would think that it matters how steadily the idle was held at the time the screen shot was taken. For instance if the idle was coming down at the time the screen shot was taken it would be different than if the idle was going up. Would the advance #s be affected that much? Why is mine almost a straight line while Jaime's and yours are different?

I have another question for those who know... When you first start up ScanTool and click Test Outputs you get this...

When I click OK it doesn't appear to do anything... I get nothing... The box just dissappears. Does anyone know what is happening when this is clicked? Or am I doing this correctly?

I have updated my graphs (prior post above) since I performed a much better collection of data today. Indeed I did need to hold the accelerator steady at the time of capure. The graphs may have limited value but it will allow others to see how their values compare to these in the event something is way off.

Just a note; the engine must be off to perform the output test. Otherwise, nothing happens.

I'll do this tomorrow after i get my tires on my car. I may have to use my camera to take stills of the screen, but I'll get it done.

Can you "print screen" the PC at the time, or doesn't that work on this software?

hmm. I'll try that. Its an old win 95 1992 technology laptop. No actually I think I put 98 on it not too long ago.

I was thinking I'd just set up my camera to video it and I can pull the frames out needed.

I havent thought baout this to know how much use it will be, but it wont hurt to add some more data to your stuff. Tires are going on now.

Tirerack is closing out of potenzas for the 16 in wheels if anyone is interested. Real cheap.
