What's it worth? My 91 black C2
Any ideas on the actual value of a 1991 black C2 5sp black int, Cup wheels 72k with dealer maintenance records. It's been a good car and I bought it from a friend about 3 years ago. I'm trying to figure out a fair price to advertise it at in the New Jersey area???? any suggestions are appreciated as I see values all over the place. Runs/ drives /lokks great - no problems, just fun!!!

I just bought a 90 C2 with recent top-end rebuild, Factory LSD, aero mirrors, Big Reds, H&R/Bilsteins and a couple of other nifty upgrades for $23K. The biggest challenge with selling/buying a pre-92 is confirming that the head seal issue has been addressed, the dual-mass flywheel was replaced, the gearbox functions perfectly and that there are absolutely no leaks.
If you've got receipts for all of those maintenance issues then you should be able to ask $25-$27K depending on other mods and the interior and exterior condition of the car. If you don't have leak down numbers handy, I'd suggest you get them along with a complete PPI. That way YOU'RE in a better position to negotiate price.
The most common mistake most sellers make is not knowing everything there is to know about their cars. I would simply pass on cars which had too many question marks or weren't maintained regularly by a Porsche specialist. Getting a good price for your car is not just about having one that looks and runs great--it's about demonstrating its potential for years of problem-free enjoyment. If you can do that effectively, you should be able to sell your C2 in no time.
