Source for WOT cam actuator needed

2 Attachment(s)
I recently discovered that my WOT switch was not being closed. It turns out the little black cam actuator was cracked. So far, all the normal sources for parts tell me this part is only available as part of the complete throttle body assembly. Before I fabricate one of these little parts I thought I would check if anyone was aware of a source.

I've included a couple of pictures of the part taken from earlier threads. Unfortunately the broken bits from my part fell down into the bowels of the engine.

thanks,

Greg

Could not find the part anywhere, pelican did a search for me and came up with nothing. If I remember, you would have to buy the T-body. I ended up repairing mine with some safety wire.
If you can find the pieces (i dropped mine too and took a while to find them) you should be able to repair it. I will try to find the pics of the repair and post it here tonight.

Here is a pic of the part repaired. I can't remember the size of the drill, but it was small and I was able to drill it by hand, working the bit back and forth with my fingers. I used stainless safety wire to tie them together. I also used some plastic adhesive to help keep it together. The adhesive alone will not work. It is still together today and working fine.

Human ingenuity never ceases to amaze me. Outstanding!

Excellent! I'll check mine tonight. I assume when that cam lobe hits the sensor, the fuel injection defaults to maximum output/WOT?

Awesome! Thanks wsybert. If I can't find the pieces your picture gives me enough info to make a replacement.

No problem. Glad to help.
Correct andrew911, the cam actuates the WOT switch, and puts the system in open loop.

Just discovered mine was cracked too. Some Crazy Glue(tm) seemed to temp fix it but I'll have to do the drill hole and wire twist routine eventually.
My question is how much of a difference does it actually make in performance (closed vs open loop, preset ignition mapping, etc...).. Using the "butt" dyno I can't tell any difference - if anything it actually seems less responsive, although just as fast to accelerate once it catches, when I mash the throttle?

I know this is an old topic, but like many others I also was in need of a WOT actuator cam.
After unsuccesfully making contact with Soderblad I went in search of a manufactor.

I have had the prototype (pictured below) installed on my 964 for some weeks and it appears to be a succesful design.

Next week I should be recieveing the definitive production version.
I only need a few for myself, so will have some spare which I'll be able to offer at a nominal cost to just recoup the research & desgin expenses.

The production run is very limited so if you're in need of one send me a message!

That's awesome. I made a bunch of these as well for the same reason. I like how yours is on with the c clip at the end of the shaft. Silly little part. I got sick of gluing them with plastic epoxy...

Did you make it from aluminum or delrin?

aldo964 02-23-2018 03:46 PM

The fit is good/tight. I doubt they would fall off, so I would say the c-clip is not really neccessary, but as they were built like that I put the c-clip on anyways, just for originality.
To answer you're question, mine are made of plastic.
