Default How to remove side skirts?

I'd like to replace those shrinked seals along the rockers and shark fin (some people call them side skirts - I hope they're the same)

Should I just pullem them out or are they screwed ? (I haven't really checked in the car - wife left me for a few hours with our 8 month baby so I can barely type message)

thanks
Jasper

Jasper - the answer is they have both screws and plastic snaps. (see http://www.porsche964.co.uk/technical/sills.htm)
I pulled mine recently and ended up breaking some of the plastic snaps. I recommend you purchase some ahead of time. I bought the 14 clips, 14 sockets and new rubber trim. While I had them rocker panels off, I repainted the black trim. For my car, Rustoleum Satin black spray paint was a good match and readily available at my local hardware store.

There are a couple other Rennlist threads that you should read.

I hope this helps.

Rob, where did you buy the trim and clips? I'd like to do that too.

I bought my trim and clips from Pelican Parts (no affiliation).

Thanks for the reply, I tried using needlenose players but couldn't hook the edge. I may try a sharper pair this weekend if I can borrow some.
On another note Vegas993, I love the look of the car in your avatar. May I ask what wheel, tire and suspension setup you're running?
Thanks again.

No problem.

Thanks, the wheels are custom forged Rotiform NFN, the design is loosely based on the 959 Centerlocks. They are 8.5 & 10 x 18. Suspension is H&R Deep Coilovers.

I've used a hooked seal pick to get some stubborn ones, but typically use needle nose pliers .
