My First 911
After months of lurking on this site, test driving locally, and viewing every car in the 1989 to 1994 range for sale on the internet for the last 4 months, I made the leap and bought a 1993 C2.
I flew down to Portland, Oregon last night, and drove the car home to Seattle arriving home at about 2AM.
I've been checking this site out for months - I appreciate the passion and knowledge shared here. It has really helped me - so thanks to all of you! I'm sure I'll have a bunch of questions in the coming months and look forward to all of your advice!
And I'll post a few pics once I get a few good ones...
Best, Brad

Hi Brad,
Welcome!!!
You have bought a great car, with lots of charm and character. Have fun!
Jens
PS. Brace yourself (and your Bank Manager) for end-less improvement projects and up-grades... You are on a slippery slope.

now you need to complete steps 2 and 3 of the innitiation ..............
2 : you need to lose the orange indicators and the silly usa black lumps next to them .
3 : lower it

Very nice, Brad. How did you find it?
A night drive back, that must have been great - like a really good first date.

Thanks for the advice already! I
t is black.
Found it on EBay - and it wasn't too far from home. And my brother lives in Portland so he inspected and test drove it -and as well I had the local Portland Porsche dealer give it a once over and the thumbs up or down. The night drive home wasn't ideal but I couldn't wait until the week-end to pick up the car --
As far as mods go... I think first I'll work on a small list of small fixes turned up in the inspection, get a new stereo (original porsche cd player is a bit wonky), get a tuneup, etc. I'll wait to lower it after I have driven it a few miles. It only has 35k on it right now. Clearly it needs to be driven!
Thanks guys!

Welcome, looks like you found yourself a really nice 964. I second your thought on the tune-up. I just picked mine up from the 30k service and man it just feels right and sounds the part too! Enjoy.

Nice car, Where in do you live right in Seattle or the Eastside etc. I just moved to KY grom monroe, ui worked at Barrier Porsche in Bellevue. But anyways if your looking for a Great Shop in Seattle try John Woalkers Workshop in Green, then there are a few goods ones on the Eastside. Squire's Autowerkes. Chris' German Auto Both In Bellevue, and Redmond European in Redmond. Of course you could always get it Seviced at barrier as Well, Ask for Jeff(The Service manager) and he'll help ya if any questions you may have.
