Default 630!

Thats not how fast its just how many degrees I spun it this morning at 5am on the way to work !
no damage except for my pride and people offering to buy me coffee beans they found it most amusing as I had overtaken them all a few minutes earlier.

Thanks yes it could have been a lot worse. I stopped spinning at 90 degrees in the road facing the armco. luckily it was a dual carriageway it went backwords up a very shallow and thankfully angled curb at around 5-10 mph after I had stopped spinning

Funny thing is I was not driving like a plonker yes I was driving quick but I was not going ballisatic. Normally I would be able to look back at an incident like this an realise where I went wrong.
On this occasion I have no idea it just went. I did not lift and I did not give it too much on the throttle.

I'm a little confused at the monent. I have certainly came off that roundabout at much higher speeds. one of the benefits of starting at 5am or not as the case may be.

That happened to me once in a 944 - with my mother on board! I remember thinking 'For God's sake, John - you can't even take one of the world's best balanced cars around a simple corner without losing control - give up cars now!'

I put it down to diesel on the road - I simply could not find any other explanation. Naturally, my mother felt we were travelling at far too humungous a speed...

Sounds very scary, glad nothing was damaged.

Was this in the dry, if so have a look at your tyres to make sure no damage down just to be safe.

funnily I wasnt scared I think because it happened too fast for my ageing brain to work out what was happening. I remember seeing armco and realising I wasnt going to hit it then getting worried as it came around again! going backwards wasnt funny though.

wasnt dry wouldnt call it wet just damp. thinking back I should have burried my foot in teh floor and been prepared to steer faster into the spin but its easy to think like that afterwoods I aint no shumacher thats for sure.

If you've lost the car then damage limitation is your best bet. Burying the throttle is almost never the answer and could get you into a whole heap more trouble. Steering into the skid can lead to a fishtail which can be equally troublesome.

Unless you have direct experience to identify the type of skid and then know how to control it then don't even bother to try, just put 'both feet in' ie. onto clutch and brake and try get the steering wheels pointing straight.

No evidence of Oil and not even any skid marks I thought at least Id get a decent photo
Its going to take me a long time to trust the car again I think I was S***ing myself at every twich on the way home. Will check tyre pressures and for piece of mind I may get 4 wheel alignement checked.

Sounds weird...I would have suspected diesel on the road. It will take a while to get your limits back up.

Yeah thats true but as I was half on the road and half accross one cariageway at a right angle they did have a reason this time
can't really blame them even if they were all muppets driving on the previous piece of road at 30MPH in a 40 limit and still bloody braking at the speed camera's err but perhaps they have a point
But I waited until we were past that bit and in the clear to overtake so they coulda given me a break

I woulda gotten away with it but the car would not start for a while not sure why. At least none of them would have seen the incident I dont think.

"people offering to buy me coffee beans" they found it most amusing as I had overtaken them all a few minutes earlier.
