Devil,

Sorry if you were mislead, these are all round new, no tyres on any wheels yet, am now awaiting a phone call back from my tyre guy on prices etc for all of the answers.

Cheers Kevin.

I would take the RE050A in consideration then as well. No N-code, but a very good tire (as long as it's not the RFT type). OE on Ferrari's.

I've had great luck with Michelin PS2's. Excellent all around street characteristics and wear. Bob

Kevin,

Just one more thing.
I heard that the Michelin's were worth the price difference compared to the Conti's.

Oh, Costco works out to be about 650 for a set of 4

My latest Michelin's came (new) with only 6mm of tread on the rear tyres...is this normal?

Oh, and to answer Kevin's question - if you can wait, why not wait for the tyres you really want (the bridgesone) - tyres are quite subjective and you'll be happiest with the ones you know, like and trust.

My car came with S02 when I got it, good grip and comfort. Then I switched to Pilot Sports after the S02 were worn. I feel that the grip and wet performance is better with the Michelin, also quieter than the S02. Then came the Yokohama AD 07, great tyres, a bit noisier than the PS, but the handling is good, control and grip is the strength. One comment on the AD07, when they are old, the wet performance deteriorate and feels nervous. But I still love them, I just have my second set installed, good value for money. My $0.02. BTW, all daily driving, no track use.

FWIW, I have terrible problems with Pirellis. I have 500 kms on a set so skewed, it makes the car undriveable.

Pirelli denied any fault although the rolling circumference is 1.5 cms longer for the left tire.

I am interested to know which you prefer, the S02A or the S02...

i notice N rated tires have lighter load ratings...like 1275lb vs 1450lb for a 205/50/17 size. this would imply softer sidewalls right? whats the story here?
