3.8RS
Anyone seen the article in Total 911 today comparing the 964RSwith the 964 3.8RS? It's awesome - first article I've ever read on driving a 3.8 and I guess it's the same for most of us. What an awesome beast - Philip, if you're reading well done mate, best issue so far!
I am going to venture that the 3.8RS is the most desirable 964, including any turbo variants. Anyone wanna venture different?!
ps - both RS and 3.8 in the article are in the 964's best colour. Which is, of course, white.

Often called the Flachbau, there are a few (like 20) '94 Turbo S non-flat noses out there, too...

92-93 Turbo S, special edition of 80 cars. The car had lightweight body parts, doors, rear lid, thin glass, recaro seats, fabric door pulls and never was imported into the USA. The car had air inlets in the rear quarter panels and in the front bumper.
1994 Turbo S 3.6, according to Flachbau.com, Three versions of the Flatnose were built as well as a "U.S.A. only" non-Flatnose version of the Turbo S dubbed the "Package". The actual number of Flatnose cars built was 76 worldwide (this number has been misquoted over time) and 17 non-Flatnose or "Package" cars were delivered to North America
RS 3.8 was a normally aspirated wide body car that was made in 1993 to help homologate the RSR. Porsche made about 100 of these and they never made it to the USA. The car had a lot of the same features the Turbo S had. The car had 300bhp and came with a bi-wing and 18" speedline 3 piece wheels.
Carrera 2 RS was a lightweight model that came in three models, M001 Carrera Cup, M002 Touring and M003 Competition or Club Sport.

Does any body have engine pics?
According to my memory the single throttle and unique Ram System is the biggest difference between RS and 3.8RS. Does any body know if the 3,8RS had an dual outlet exhaust?

I don't have a picture, but do have information on the RS 3.8's engine.
The engine was a M64/04 and had a capacity of 3746cc. It produced 300bhp at 6500rpm and a max torque of 360Nm at 5250rpm. The compression ratio was 11.0:1 and the bosch Motronic 2.1 engine management was used.
The regular Carrera RS had a M64/03 motor and had 260bhp at 6100rpm.

I realise I'm probably the only one on Rennlist who thinks this - but I've never had any desire whatsoever to own an RS.

If deep down you have ever had a desire to drive a car that was a true driver's car, then th RS is a car for you. I had a three, they are very raw, they demad a lot of driver attention and they aren't good for daily driving.
These cars are not for the timid.
