Did you get the mirror fixed? lump it all in with the repair!

Good luck, I assume he admitted fault and you swapped insurance details!

A new door is the diagnosis from the local bodyshop. You can actually see the door strengthening bar thing clearly outlined in the dent. It would seem that it will have to go to the Porsche Centre in Aarhus. Never mind, whilst I was waiting one of the bodyshop guys polished out most of the oxidisation on that side of the car with one of those rotary polishing machines. Was there for about half an hour chatting, no charge of course - I really don't think they see 911's very often in North Jutland....

And Dave K, I have heard the jealous talk before....

Oh yeah, the mirror. Drove to GT One in Chertsey last week with the mirror hanging off the side of the car. It was wrapped in a large white towel and duct tape so it looked a lot like I was driving around with a large nappy hanging off the side of my car. GT One laughed so hard but 1 hour later and a lot of looking around their parts bins they repkaced the hook/screw thing inside and it was back on. Total cost £15 cash....

I envision Christer as a tall, blonde Nordic type (Dolph Ludgren?).
Based on his previous avatars I was picturing more of a hairy-chested, tall, brown haired guy with bellbottoms on and mirrored sunglasses! Like one of those Vegas casino owners from the 70s.

you can add your mugshot on "show me your true color..." thread.

it is quite funny sometime to see the combination of avatar-name-real face !

A little research and you will find out what the one ear spitting cat looks like in real life...

p.s. It should be noted that he is over 70 yeaqrs old so.....I guess that is a mitigating factor......

I drove from London, via Eurotunnel. It took around 15 hours including the crossing and also waiting an hour because of course I missed the train I was supposed to be on.... According to my satnav, my average speed was around 115km/h (taking out the Eurotunnel bit). I was a bit disappointed about the Autobahns, there was a lot of traffic for most of it, with German drivers waiting until you have closed the 2 miles in the faqst lane and then pulling out in front of you at the least minute and crawl past several trucks which theyhave been happily driving behind for half an hour before I came along....honestly, German drivers suck rhino d**k for breakfast. I am surprised I had any brake pad left after a few hours of that crap. I did reach an indicated just over 260km/h on the autobahn though for about 20 seconds before I had to test my brakes again. 2 minutes after that I was doing 40km/h due to traffic....it was actually frustrating. Also, I sat in an M25 style traffic jam around Hamburg due to large roadworks for about 40 minutes. By the time I reached Flensburg I was quite annoyed. I think I passed through the Danish border at about 220kmh and I guess it was lucky there was no one manning the border. I think there were also a few surprised Danish motorists who had their windscreens sucked out by the exhaust note as I passed them in the fast lane as I had lost all sense of humour by then.

I should point out that I had to leave very unexpectedly on this trip and I have therefore managed to drive through 5 countries, breaking the speed limit to some agree 85% of the time without driving licence, insurance papers or vehcile registration papers.....What on Earth are the police doing these days???I did have a passport though so I could at least prove who I was.......ha ha.

I will just leave the car here for now and fly back and pick it up another time.

It was quite exciting actually, I always wondered what especially the Danish police would do when I have no documents whatsoever......when they stop me for speeding or not having taped up my headlights being a RHD car...?

Hey Christer...
Welcome back home, things will sort themselves out... They always do... Man, have you ever got a great disposition on life, I admire you... Or else, you’re one damn good story teller... And, after having just read your post, it must be the latter...

Christer, I wish you would write more often and stop smashing your Porsche 911/964 up... Lately that’s all you seem to do!!.. So please, now that the repairs are to start in the near future in Denmark, chill out and catch your breath... "Because I for one can’t keep up with you!!.. I need to chill out and catch my breath too!!"..

Your best seller, "Life in the Fast Lane"... Written by Christer...

Is simply not good for my Porsche 911/964!!.. Nor me!!.. We’re exhausted from the trials and tribulations of, "Speedy and the Kid"... So if you don’t mind... I’m going to stop a Chapter Two... I can't take anymore, phew.....

We're..... e x h a u s t e d.....

One day I’ll meet you...
From here,
Marc...

PS. Jutta came home... She's taking about some guy ????....
Now who could that be????....

Christer

Your gritty reflection on our German, erh, friends creased me up ..... but so sorry that the old man didn't realise what he was up to for so long, since your car is difficult to miss!

I suggest you play SNAP with him for money.

This must be touching up the £100k upgrades/repairs by now?

Luckily and obviously the repairs are covered by the perpetrator in question so there is no problem. It *is* after all only a piece of metal. There are other more pressing emotional traumas here in this house than worrying about a car door...even if it is a 964....ha ha.

Actually, I am going to go out and get a photo in a little while....so you can share my...well pain...but also...bear in mind that he hit it with the *corner* of his bumper.....just remember that...ha ha..ffs...

Marc, there are an awful lot of people here with a great disposition, you included. I have met several UK Rennlisters and I they would seem to be a jolly nice bunch on the whole

And now.....group hug.......
