Default What is missing here?

This view is looking forward, inside the front trunk, at the right front. I seem to be missing a plastic cover as the carpet has three buttons, but no where to attach. 1990 C4 Cab.

Can anyone tell me the part number, and does anyone have one left over from a weight reduction project you will part with?

Thanks, Danz C4.

Thanks. Maybe a closer look at the plastic forward bracket please. I have the top piece, but it looks like yours is all one piece with the male snaps.

There are two different snap covers. There is the one in Marc's photo (#964-555-085-00) and that is for attaching carpeting with buttons. The other version is #964-555-085-01 and that extends further down into the trunk and uses velcro to attach the carpet.

While on the subject, has anyone ever tried changing the velcro fasteners with snaps. My front carpet set velcro seems to have worn out. On the other hand, any comments on getting a local sewing person (what ever they are called) to replace the velcro on the carpets? I need to see this person anyway as some of the edge trim has come loose.
I'm sure it's much cheaper than buying a new carpet set.

Hey BK'ian...(what is your name)
I can only imagine that hand-made quality still has its worth... Your idea seems like a good one. Probably the same route would be taken by me if I had a, restorer/sailmaker/craftsmen that could make the old function as new again... Why not!!... Porsche will always sell you every new, if it does not work out... Good luck...

From here,
Marc...

Hey Mark,

Peter here, or perhaps Pierre for you? :-)
Thanks for your comments. I will try to find someone (most likely someone who fixes suitcase zippers or the likes). Hope it works well, just wish I could do it myself.

Peter

I took mine to a local furniture upholstry shop where they repaired the edge trim - an easy sewing job for them. There is also a local shop that specializes in car seats and interior trim. I would think that it would be an easy job for them.

Here's a couple more pictures of what that area looks like with the snaps.

One of mine came loose and had to be glued. Looks okay from above, not so pretty from underneath.

Awesome, thanks! Now I know that I'm missing those two little black plastic pieces with the snaps as well as three snaps in my carpet. Was there a product code on those plastic pieces?

If you mean the two 'individual' snap mounts, they are metal.

And, no. :-(

I figured a product code would be a stretch.
Well, now I know I need to find those 2 metal snap mounts so thanks.

I'll bet you could substitute 9 in this diagram pretty well.

In fact, I'll bet it's the same part - just used only at the back of the trunk on later models.

I can find anything at all on PET. Except when it's something I need for myself...
