For a Tip you overpaid but who cares. You are the one to enjoy it and you got what you paid for. Congrats on the purchase and welcome!

2012 PIC. Underwent a few more changes since then.

It's probably not a big help, as I understand the vast majority of cars and members here are U.S. based.

This is a EU specification (the car is German).

Purchase price was definitely good, but the car needed some serious attention. I must admit it has been a bit of a money pit, more than I expected, but it came around eventually.

I bought it because it had the exact specs I wanted: 1992 (which means standard Airbags on Euro models, the new intake system and a few more things), cup mirrors and 17" cup rims, stick (very common in Europe BTW), 4 wheel drive, convertible, sport seats, black with black interiors etc.

The car now: Engine completley rebuilt, (< 10k miles), new brake discs, restored and repainted calipers, Kevlar brake lines, Bilstein B6, H&R front and rear roll and sway Bars, titanium strut bar, gearbox and all 3 differentials - including shaft - serviced (they were actually in excellent condition).

Body was decent, but I had it taken to the shop to remove any hint of impending rust (as you know there are a few weak spots on these cars). The A/C system has been a real pain in the neck to restore, it ended with a 100% rebuild...The roof was ok but the electric motion was dead and took its toll too...

I also added the cruise control and the OBC, every part original Porsche, a Parrot bluetooth hands free device and a Porsche Classic Radio (very disapponted with this one, a huge step back from the previous Becker Indianapolis). Alpine Stereo Class D digital amp, Active Pioneer subwoofer, 2 ways Hertz speakers. It sounds ok, considering that this is one of the worst environment to fit a decent stereo.

I also added the aftermarket 3rd stop light arch bar on the rear wing assembly. Very cool looking. Not required in Europe, BTW. The side lights are now white, ieo orange. Wheel hubs are now the original 1992.

Can you please describe a little bit about the condition of the car as it is in person? Photos sometimes can be deceiving. Thanks.

They can indeed. This was a pretty decent car. The color combo is very appealing,,, the red interior pops beautifully against the black,,,,car runs strong,,,,shifts well,,,,but pulls strong to the right. Exterior paint looks average to good, however, Its had paint work,,,I think the entire driver side has been painted,,,,the welding marks on the driver side, under the engine lid have been painted over to at least the driver side mirror. Also noticed signs of paint work on the front passenger fender. few of the switches need fixing,,,,turn signal wouldn't stay on in one direction,,, didn't look like the engine temp gauge was functionaing properly,,,,I think its a good car for someone who's looking for a fun car to drive. No maintenance record.

Default 1990 C4

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1990-Porsch...p2047675.l2557

Just purchased this car for the 'buy it now' price of $46k. Car being shipped to my mechanic in CA this week. Seller very knowledgeable and helpful with receipts, info. 2-owner car (I'm the 3rd) and original owner had it from 1990 - 2017.

i watched that car's auctions. i was tempted being in Dallas. seems like a reasonable price, assuming it checks out.
good luck.

Judging by the videos from the owner Instagram driving the car one last time before the transport took (pried) the car away from him today, it sounds like it's going to be a fun car to drive. Not perfect, but a well-sorted driver with some bolt-on goodies that I would have done anyway, and that's what I wanted, and paid for. Car will arrive at my mechanic in LA between Tuesday and Thursday with more info to follow.

Considering 2 cars were of the same condition/mileage/specs.......what kind of premium does Slate Grey Metallic and Cobalt Blue command over a Black?
