Comments: I bought the car (completely stock example) from a 3rd owner, who really didn't know how to care for a car like this. It was a toy for him, but he rarely drove it and so maintenance, etc was spotty. He offered a few receipts for work done, but I knew I'd be in for some surprises. 4 years later I have probably another $35k invested across a full engine rebuild, significant heating and A/C work, some electrical system gremlins, and minor suspension refurb - I'm definitely increasing the number of work order records! It's in a pretty good spot now, to the point that I'm ready to contemplate the next phase of mods/upgrades. It's a year round daily driver, so I'm always trying to find the right balance of what to tackle, but I'm the envy of every sedan commuter in the office parking lot!

I would have set the price closer to $65k and see what happens. All depends on how bad the damage and good the repair. It is an RSA without sunroof or A/C which does carry a premium irrespective of condition or rational thought.

Hate to be the bad guy here but aren't for sale ads for paying members only?

Heard about Holt through this forum. Called about this car..
http://www.holtmotorsports.com/inven...2-Coupe/410319

$72,000. Maybe I just don't get it but isn't that a little high? Even the concours value on hagerty is $57.

First off don't bother with Hagerty. No such thing as a #1 and no such thing as a nice coupe of this quality for $57k. The're just numbers thrown around. True quality cars sell for a lot more than $57k. A pristine almost number 1 with low miles will see well into the 6 figures as I have seen a number sell for privately. Then again that is asking price and only serious buyers will know what the real price is.

Agree with Cobalt. Nada guides, Hagerty etc. are just numbers. Go find a low mileage, all services performed, pristine condition anything and those numbers will not be of help. I certainly would not sell my 964 C4 anywhere near those numbers if I ever decide to depart from it which I highly doubt. That said there is a half of that mileage guards red 964 sold by another RLister here that is around same price or I think less. Link is here: https://rennlist.com/forums/vehicle-...es-mint-2.html

I would trust this one more than at a dealer, regardless of Dealer reputation they need to make some money. Good luck with search.

Price in the US, $250.00 shipped. Will ship world wide but additional shipping costs depending on destination. Paypal or Cash App works for me as form of payment. I didn't want to pay $59+tax through the dealer for a model I didn't "love".
3.2 is my first choice. 964 2nd and 993 third.

@Sajan: Loads of good 3.2s out there so keep looking. Can't help you there as I once was also within your same preference sequence but I dropped the 3.2 affair once I test drove a 964 Coupe for the first time. 3.5 years later I found my 'old lady' (the 964 C4) and shortly thereafter got into it with a blue 'mistress' (My 9934S). So your affair is just getting started. Good luck with search.

Affair is definitely the right word. I had an 09 cayman S that I sold after 3 years of ownership (big mistake because it was paid off) and I am now driving a 991.1S. Got some more payments left on it but the affair with the classics are getting out of control and I have become more impatient. I really don't want 2 car payments this big so I am trying to keep the 2nd one under 40-50K.
I am not overly picky, I think.
I just don't love the styling of the 993s.
I don't want a cab. Other than that I just want to find a clean enough car that I can drive without spending a ton on repairs in the short term. I feel like the cars at Holt/Sloan are all too pristine for me to put miles on.
I think i prefer the 3.2 for its styling and 964 for its driving though I am sure I will be happy with either one.

On a related note: does paying for a membership on this forum get you access to more cars? I can't tell if the members only classifieds is diff.

No payments on a classic. Maintenance is too high for that. For $40-$50 you should be able to find a nice 3.2 and/or nice 964 to put some more miles on it. Might have to compromise with a Targa on the 964s but there are some real nice ones with modest mileage out there. Patience is the main ingredient to support this madness. Happy Hunting!

Let's just say it is in your best interest to pay for the membership. This one looks good for your needs: https://losangeles.craigslist.org/la...484763473.html
