No friends and/or family, just a very nice older PCA couple that couldn't drive the car any longer. He had had a stroke and had lost quite a bit of his sight. I detailed the car to remove some hard water marks, but other than that it was in absolutely immaculate condition. I wasn't looking for another 911 when the opportunity presented itself, but I absolutely *love* the car. It's up on jack stands as we speak (type?), going to do a full hydraulic bleed tonight and replace the >10 year old tires that I know won't last much longer despite how new they look. Bringing it to the Chico Concourse d'Elegance this weekend and my wife and I are going to have to fight over who gets to drive this one. I suspect that I don't stand much chance.

Clearly the older PCA folks were pleased it would go to "enthusiasts", and were willing to pass on such a treasure without pushing the market price limits.

Sounds like they just wanted to see their treasure move onto to a good family that will take it out & show it, drive it, enjoy it, and maintain it as it so deserves.

......
..... & I'm gonna say this anyway (even tho so many folks think the color is passe'). I LOVE the color.
My favorite since I was a kid & I never gave up on Indischrot/Guards Red.

Enjoy the car in good health!

Wow that is a great price.

Maybe that is a reflection of where the market is headed.

I wonder if like in real estate we can use this as the current comparable market value to negotiate with.

Even though I currently own a 964 I hope the market values fall as I have no intentions of selling therefore market values have no impact on me except to hopefully decrease my insurance rates.

/\ I agree, a 1989 C4 manual coupe with 105k miles and good overall condition is easily a $40k car.

Default RS America market

I am considering selling my 93 RS America and am having some difficulty keeping up with the air cooled market. I bought the car about 10 years ago after viewing it on the RSA website. It has been a track car from day 1, but very well maintained. No AC, no sunroof, and was ordered with no radio (though a previous owner did put one in that does not function). It just turned 80,000 miles and has the usual track updates (adjustable suspension, cage, RSR wing, Cup clutch/flywheel, Big Reds with floating hats, etc). It hit the wall at Watkins Glen before my time (I have pictures of repair to back panel and quarter) but retains a clean title.

My question is what is a fair market value to list the car at? I've spoken with some Boston area private sports car dealers that I used to work with and they had little to say as they only deal with the stock ones. Thank you for any feedback.

can you post some pics? what's status on motor maintenance?
50-75k would be my guess, but a LOT depends.

Default 93 C2

93 C2, two owners, 84000 miles, seems like a nice example. Listed on ebay and Pelican, sold on ebay for $45100 on 9/20/2016.
