Default Only $24 more...

This post is not 964 related, but I thought I'd post it anyway.

I found this car while searching for an '86 coupe.

It's reported to have 5900 miles, an upgraded intercooler and turbo. The pics show quite the nice 930 for sale for $47,500. Scroll to the two pics that show the front trunk. Don't you think for such a fantastic car that the owner or dealership would spring for two hood shocks for $24 (for a pair!) and get rid of the ultra cheesy prop stick? Stuff like this makes no sense to me (but I'm just an **** retentive concours guy anyway)...

There are probably new shocks installed. It is all the bondo in the hood that needs the prop to hold up!

You mean a hockey stick isn't standard equipment?

Not a lot of dough. Not a lot of time. But it makes all the difference in the world. Sheesh.

But that paint sure looks goooood in the photos...

Default My solution

Personally, I use a fiberglass arrow to hold up my trunk lid.

I can't figure out how to get to the pnuematic thingees to replace them in my 1991 targa C2. They are somewhat buried.

Any threads that someone could refer me to?

It's so hard to keep track of those country-specific options. I wonder if it was only available through Tequipment?

Still, for $30, you can buy 2 heavy duty type hood shocks that hold up all that bondo! Only $6 more!!

The more expensive approach which I use is as follows. Take the 150 dollar Easton Synergy composite one piece hockey stock that I blocked a shot with and broke shortly after the warranty ran out. Then cut the broken end, heat and install a wooden plug to create a nice 150 dollar prop for the bonnet.
