Interior light problem
 
My 93 C2 cab interior light goes on manually but not automatically when the doors open even when it is in the "automatic" mode.

The previous owner had problems with the trunk bonnet light was staying on so some guy disconnected it. The fuse #11 is fine as if it was blown the interior light would not go on at all I would think. A later owner was not to bright and simply replaced the bonnet light bulb thinking that was the problem.

My basic question is, since the interior light works manually and the fuse is not broken, could all this be resolved by fixing the bonnet hood contact light switch which could be the remedy as it is probably where the ground is causing all the problems. I have not checked if the glove compartment light works but they are are tied together from my understanding.

Are you sure your interior switch is set in the correct position? My cab switch has 3 positions....Check them all to be sure.

Try contact cleaner on the door switch. If you take it out be carefull . If its like my previous Pcars it has a thin wire attached to it that is a major PITA to fish out of the door frame.

Pull your dome light out of it's position. With it hanging by its wires, rock the switch back and forth noting where and how contact is made. Should be on the left side, unless yours was installed with the oposite orientation as mine. I am guessing your is not making contact properly in the auto-on position. Mine periodically has the same problem and simple pressure above the contact point provides an easy fix for a few months.

I believe the problem is at door switches. I had the same problem. The door switch grounds the circuit when the door opens. They get corroded or the wire broke off. turn the black button back and forth to try and wear off the corrosion, but don't turn the button around and around or the wire will twist off. If you have to remove the switch, again try to keep the button from turning all around.
