Disconnect airbag?

Are there any problems/risks with disconnecting the passenger airbag on a '90 C2?
I've found one that fits my needs and would like to purhcase it but I have small kids who would ride in the car as well. I have found a company that sells a kit (just the information describing the process) for $120 and they offer technical support if any problems arise.
Thanks ahead of time for any suggestions.

if the "kit" has a resistor to plug into the removed airbag's connector, you should be alright. it's making the controller think the bag is still there. if you just removed the bag and left the connector empty, the airbag controller sees a fault and may not deploy your airbag when you need it. you wouldn't know for sure until you hit something.

i don't like airbags. my 928 didn't come with airbags, but my Jetta did. i pulled the wheel and put a Momo wheel in. so will the pass airbag deploy? who knows...
