Time to move on...
No, I'm not selling my 964...
Below is a copy of a post I made to John & Jenn and my fellow moderators yesterday.
Rest assured, I will still be around here for a long time to come, but I don't like to feel that I'm not pulling my weight and the moderating is taking too much of a back seat these days for me to feel comfortable with it.
I don't quite believe that I'm typing this, though it's been in my mind for some time now.
As some of you know, my life has had a few ups and downs over the last few months as Paula has had some crises with her Multiple Sclerosis. It has culminated in the sale of our pharmacy business, so that I can devote my time and attentions to looking after her and, we hope, regaining some kind of 'life' whilst we still have the chance.
As part of the reorganising of our lives, it's clear that I just don't have the time to do anything like a decent job of moderating any more. I hardly ever look at the Help forums, which were once my natural home and, even on the 964 forum, I often don't get the time to look at anything more than a couple of threads now and again.
Although selling the business ought to free up some time, I'm sure you'll all understand if I say that my priorities are more and more focussed elsewhere.
I'll remain as active as I can be on Rennlist for a good, long time to come but I feel it's right for me to hang up my moderator's hat now. I have the great pleasure of knowing that my protege Marc has slotted into the role superbly. Marc, my personal thanks to you - your attitude has made my life easier!
Like I said, I can't really believe it but... John and Jenn, I guess I'm asking you to remove my moderator status.
Sometime in the future, should you feel the need to ask for a helping hand - you can count on me.
Good luck, you two for the wedding!

John, you know my feelings already.
I am certain that I speak for many here when I say that you will be missed but always welcomed.

John - thread title that gave me a fright! I can understand giving up the moderator role, but I hope you'll still be regularly on the 964 board - won't be the same without you

John, best of luck to you and your wife and I hope that selling the business helps free up your time. If anything, you'll have more time to dedicate to finding a way to make the move from the 964 to a 993 so I don't feel like the only 993 amongst the Total911 contributors
As for Marc Shaw taking assuming your role as a moderator, all I can say is YEY FOR CANADA ! ! ! !

John, your priorities are clearly in the right place. Too often we forget about our families and friends, putting other things ahead of them.
Best regards to you and Paula......and for everything you have done here on Rennlist.
