wing maintenance
do you lube your rear wing or do any other maintenance to the lifting mechanism?

I don't do any maintenace,maybe the mechanic does something when the car goes in for it's 20k kms service.

I lubed the the rear wing lifting mechanisms on my 964 this winter as preventative maintenance. I greased the drive gear that lifts the wing and oiled all of the hing points too. Considering how many times the wing has to go up and down during it's life, I assumed that lubricating all the moving areas would help. I'll keep doing this at least twice a year. Plus, my spoiler was rather sloppy when it was in the up position. I was able to tighten a lot of the connections / joints to make the wing a little more solid. Hope this helps, Jay 90 964 |
Lubrication of the rear wing mechanism is a highly desirable maintenance action. Saves a lot of heartache and expense later on. I do this once per year, just before winter as part of my winter service package which has nothing to do with minor service or major service just my service,
