I had something witty to add too . . . . . but I've forgotten it . . . .

Anyway, I would only have had to then go to all the trouble of translating it from Australian into English.

For instance, I think the simplest terms compare as follows:
US - UK - Oz
bonnet - hood - hood
trunk - trunk - boot
fender - bumper bar - bumper bar
bull bar - ?? - roo bar
windshield - windscreen - windscreen
rotor - ?? - disk
cop - plod - cop
sidewalk - footpath - footpath

I give up!

In a few weak moments in the past I have thought of getting a sportscar of another marque, but one of the big factors in never pursuing that choice is that I wouldn't be able to contribuite to Rennlist anymore.

PS Peter:
fender US = wing UK
rotor US = disc UK

This board is excellent and a pleasant place to be. I stay away from the smart groups 964 forum because of all the "experts" that have arrogant/quick to snap attitudes towards newbies or questions that have already been asked - we all start somewhere with Porches, this list is very forgiving and helpful, like having lots of old friends around.

John

The car is fine actually - I was expecting oil leaks and smoke in the exhaust to show themselves now I am CATless and undertrayless but so far so good. Maybe I can keep that engine work at bay for another year?

Sorry to hear you f**ked your wheel - do you know if the susp was ´damaged as well? Fingers crossed...

Well all I want to say is we C4 owners don't see any difference between C2 owners and normal people. (can't promise this holds for cabrio owners though!!)"

We C4 cabrio owners view all 964 owners as normal people. We merely feel sympathy for the C2 owners who can only get their cars out on dry weekends and for lhd targa owners because they cannot afford a better model :-)))

Even though there is a degree of commonality between the membership of various forums I'm a member of, behaviour varies. This is a good natured one.

Maybe the 964ers can be referees in the 993 forums.

Or fuel providers if you prefer...

IMO What seems to pervade this list is happiness. Even when the oil leaks and warning lights might suggest otherwise, everyone seems fundamentally happy. I put it down to our discovery of that automotive nirvana that is a 964. Its mondeo money, it won't depreciate, it looks like a goddess and goes like s. off a s.s.

No wonder we're all smiling.

Incidentally I'm on tenterhooks over the end of the English footy season and glued to Planetfootball.com and Fox on a Saturday to see if West Ham can avoid the drop!

Ruairidh:

Thanks from the rare (no, unheard of) complement of a Mets fan by a Yankees fan.

Actually, I'm looking forward to the Arsenal vs. Man U match on April 16. Hopefully, they'll show it on Fox Sports World over the weekend.

Anyone care to chime in on whose going to win (after all, this is predominantly a British thread)?

OK what can I do - I've tried insulting everyone and you're still being nice ???

there is obviously something genetic about 964 owners - do you think it will show on the genome map?

You could always buy an M3...then report on how much you miss the 964 engines ability to not blow up
