Default Poll: Silver Crest/Emblem or Original Gold on hood.

Wanted everyones opinion about replacing the hood emblem with a Silver crest instead of the original gold.

Maybe this will help me decide.

Silver

vs.

Gold

Thanks,
Puma

Normally I am not a fan of gold trim, or wheels, or chains, on cars. In this one case, I think you have to go with the original. I am proud of the Porsche heritage........this is something of tradition that I would not change.

I think it would depend on the color of your car... And the trim...

Been pondering this conumdrum for a couple of weeks, yesterday nearly bought a new gold emblem then decided I actually prefer the tarnished and burnished original sitting proudly on the bonnet right now!

I agree - I prefer my fifteen year old, slightly flattened example to the new sans-patina one on my friend's new Boxster.

As stated previously, a lot of it depends on color.
I have a silver hood crest on my Lapis Blue 996TT and like the silver against that color.

For my car, it would be going on a black on tan, soon to be black on black. Can you post a pic

I think the silver is a great improvement. Far more understated IMO.

I have gold on my black car (and voted for gold above) but agree that silver would look very cool.

Bill Berezin- A cobalt blue 964? I've only ever seen a turbo in this color. How about some pics? This color might look especially good with a silver crest.
As for my Amazon Green, I also think silver would look cool. I noticed on the last wash that my crest was a little loose. Maybe I should replace it.....
