Smile Le Mans 24hrs - who's planning to go?

I know it's only January, but I need something to look forward to such as sunshine and French food!

So far myself, my Dad (92 C2) and some friends (924S & MGTF) together with some guys from the local region of the Porsche club are planning to go.

After wanting to go for a number of years, I've finally got my act together and on 13th June will be cruising the French roads in some sort of shambolic convoy! This will be the first proper adventure for my C4 and me!

Anyone else thinking of going?

Cheers

Yes, the intention is there for the second year running. Last year though the results were...disappointing.

I can't be sure that I can get away at that time of year, but I sure would like to try.

I have been wanting to go for the last 2 or so years, but this year is looking good to go! Planning on booking through PCGB.

Yeh, I will be booking through PCGB too - reasonably priced and decent camping areas too! Not that I'll be too bothered about where I'm sleeping after a couple of 'bouteilles'!

I really wanted to go last year but by the time I woke up all the places were gone... I'm really keen to go this year as the guys I spoke to who went last year had a brilliant time, I'll also book thru the PCGB.

Cheers

I will be going with PCGB again. If you haven't booked you had better move VERY FAST.

I run a Le Mans SmartGroup for those going in 2003. Check it our for info on last year. Should start getting active shortly for 2003.

Do also check out my Le Mans pages on My Site in the Events section. Reports, photos, tips etc.

See you there,

John

Here is pic of a number of us at Porsche Curves last year.

Yes, I would like to go, but will be travelling hopefully via Rosyth! I couldn't bring myself to cough up the PCGB fee this year, either, so it looks like we'll be a convoy of 1..I maybe will try and link up with some other Scottish porkers - anyone know of anybody else making the trip from Scotland?

I will look out for Rennlist stickers if I make it there!

Johnny G.

A person I know, Debbie Kerr from Aberdeen, might be going back this year. She's got a slate grey 1989 C4, so you could make a good convoy!

Will check if she really is going and let you know.

By the way guys, the second black car (with orange sticker) in John's pic is mine!

Well, I've just booked 2 car slots for the PCGB camping area including the ferry crossing from Portsmouth to Caen.

According to the guy on the phone, there are only 12 spaces left!!

So if you are planning to go with the UK club, might be an idea to get your skates on!

Cool

According to the travel company, they started taking bookings last August for the PCGB camping area! That's why I couldn't get on the 'fast ferry' to Cherbourg then...
