Bill,

You need to resave the image in a smaller size and use its new URL in the avatar section of your profile.
If you mean that you don't have any software to resize it, then I would gladly do it for you and email you the result.
Whatever size your 'hosted' image somewhere on the web, that's the actual size of your avatar.
I bet that's as clear as mud, as we say over here!

THIS IS AN AVATAR TEST!!

I made the same mistake yesterday. I thought that when you linked a picture of your car to an avatar that the image would be automatically "avatarized" (shrunk) but it isn't. If anyone wants to see a full size picture of my car (which is celebrating it's second anniversary with me on MONDAY...SEND GIFTS AND CARDS!!) see my post with the title "Test..please ignore" or something like that.

In any case. This is another avatar test for me. Hope it shows up!!

Bill,

Right-click on the image made by Conor (or one of the selection of different sizes in this thread - Bill's Avatars) and save it to your hard drive.

Upload that image to your Rennlist member gallery.
Right-click on it when it's in there and pick 'properties', then copy the URL that's shown.

Finally, go into your 'profile' click on 'use a different avatar image', paste the URL into the appropriate area, click on 'set URL' and 'use this avatar'. Close that window, click on 'update profile'.

That should do it.

If you're not sure how to upload to your Rennlist member gallery, just ask...

...or I'll host it for you on my website, if you wish.

No, Bill, I'm not hosting it for you.

I think John D must have done it for you - he mentions it in another thread somewhere.
