Seal on Oil cap
Hi All,
While checking over my engine yesterday, I tightened up the Oil Cap as there was maybe a 1/16th more turn. What a difference. Idle now solid, acceleration much smoother etc.
For those that don't know (and I know Adrian has mentioned this many times), the seal on the oil filler does have a big effect on running.
Has anyone else noticed this?
Ade.

Dear Ade,
Any air leak in the 964 has a major affect on running. Poorly fitted airbox or filter. Leak in throttle body and of course the often mentioned oil cap,
Ciao,

I second that on the throttle body. Mine ran like sh** and when took it to the shop they did a leak down test on the throttle body. It wouldn't hold pressure for even 2 seconds. As the guy pumped the air in it leaked out just as fast. The body is supposed to hold something like 3 pounds of pressure for 10 minutes or something like that. Anyway, what a difference. ($1800 later).
