slant, you never did say if, after you plugged in the check engine light, you were able to read codes from it?

horst. I'm not really sure of the procedure to get those codes. Obviously, it is not in my owners manual and I got started on this other issue with the O2 sensor so that's become second project for now. I would like to hear how to get those codes. I'm still waiting for the replacement bulb from the Porsche dealer to put my brake sensor bulb back in that is now in the check engine socket.

If yours will work, here is how to activate:
1. key off, step on accelerator pedal, and hold on the floor

2. while holding accelerator down, turn key to the run position (don't start the engine), and watch the check engine light. It will flash once. Immediately release the accelerator pedal, and watch the light. It will now flash a series of flashes, long, short, etc, almost like Morse code. There is a series that says esssentially "A- ok", no faults. That is what you want to see. Other combinations may come up, which indicate any one of 20+ possible faults. I have posted the menu before, if needed, I can again send.
