Post small dent removal

I read a thread here or smartgroups re. companies in US who come round and remove small dents. Don't know how they do it? My question is does anybody in UK know of company that can do this?

Thanks in advance!

Yes there are companies who do dent removal. Here's how they do it, since I've had it done...
- They gain access to the inside of the panel, carefull because they sometimes will drill a hole in the side of the panel.
- They place a special light on the panel they are straightening. This serves two functions. 1- to see the dents in great accuracy and 2 - to heat up the paint as to make it maluable.
- Then they have tools that allow them to gently massage out the dent from the rear of the panel. This is similar to sheet metal work and forging work.

As a side note, they can even recreate lines & points in the car's panels. It is well worth doing, just be carefull to get a good person who won't swiss cheese the side of the panels...

Unfortunately can't help you with a UK source.

Jonas at JZM have a guy that they use/recommend who did my bonnet (trunk) lid. There were about five dents caused by the PO closing the lid on items protruding. A couple of them were about the size of a golf ball with the remainder being sharp dents.

They came and repaired it whilst having some work done at JZM, the bill came to £115.

The result was incredible, if someone told me they had replaced the bonnet I would have believed them. Made me think I was seeing things in the first place.

Dent Devils removed a 'ding' in the drivers door (on the upper curve) of my car. He also removed a couple of slight ones in the rear wing all for about £100. As Rob W states the result was virtually perfect. I would expect the actual result depends on the guy who does it. The guy who did mine (when I lived in Norfolk) also did all the work for the main Merc and BMW dealers in the area. Might be an idea to check with your local friendly 'quality' car dealers for a rec. of who they use.

Richard.
