Hi Chris,
There is a brass plug on the side of the control unit. Remove the aluminum cover of the control unit and pop out the brass access plug. On the board there is an eight position switch. Use a small flat screwdriver and set @ position 2 counting clockwise. This is +6.3% fuel.

Bob,

I have the Motronic Bosch # 0 261 200 182/ part 911.618.124.02, and my car is an early 90' C2. I'm looking at the DME right now, open, but I'm not seeing a brass access plug. Can you give me a little more detail on where it's located on the board and what it looks like? (size, shape, etc). I don't want to accidentally destroy it!

Thanks - Chris

Chris,
The proper Porsche # 964 618 124 00
Bosch # 0 261 200 473 is a 90 ECU.

I have two with these exact #'s. Is you car a C4 or a Tiptronic?? Those
ending in 01, 02, 03, 04, are later ECU's. Here are two pics. One showing the
access plug removed on the right side contor box, and the second a picture
of the switch on the mother board.

Hmm, my ECU must have been replaced at some point - perhaps the car was flooded? It is a 1990 C2 Coupe (avatar). Man, I wish I had the earlier version

Thanks for all of your help Bob!

Chris
the bosch # number makes no sense. I believe all c2's ended in 473 except euro rs and carrera cup which ended in 483. I have found these ECU's on ebay before. Vertex in Fla or any dismantler should be able to locate one. Do you have a salvage title?

911-618-124-02 was introduced in May 1989 and used up until about October of the same year.

So, this is an older one without the adjustable piece. It has the opening, but nothing behind it.
