Can you aim factory fog lights?
 

Last night I noticed my driver's-side fog light shines "lower" (~ 15 feet closer) than the passenger-side one does. The passenger-side one looks to be aimed correctly, so I am wanting to match the driver's-side one up with it so they both shine "evenly". I took a look at it this morning, but I didn't see anywhere that could be a screw adjustment for aiming the fogs.

Is there a way to aim them, or no? I'm guessing there has to be a way to aim them or they wouldn't have become uneven in the first place. There has to be something to loosen, tighten, or adjust in there. :D

Yes you can aim them. Take another look, the adjustment screws are there.

Remove trim on inner edge (#41 & 46), adjustment screw underneath.

Rick - they are from PET. I use a screen capture program (SnagIt), save them as JPG and upload them.

Marc, do you have a part number for #46? My car is missing that little inner trim piece on both lamps. (Until I saw another 964 about a week ago, I thought there was no trim piece there!).

I was able to re-aim my driver's side, but found that the passenger side was stripped internally and the light is stuck at maximum elevation (upward). Had to purchase a new fog light. Hope your's adjusts withouit any problems.

Once you throw in the other kid (the taller one at the back), the wife, and the dog, the other two kids have to sit somewhere!

Holy Ancient Post Bump!

I recently had one of my two fog lights burn out, and when I removed it to replace the bulb, I noticed that the threaded plastic part that serves to allow aiming adjustment was broken. Not sure how that came to pass, but suffice to say that I was a little annoyed since the new fog light assemblies are around $200.

But even worse, when I dissembled the other side to replace its bulb, it TOO had a broken adjuster.

I do not think that there has been any front end damage to the car (I am not the original owner), so the only thing I cam come up with is that someone was unaware that one of the three screws was actually the adjuster, and just wailed on it thinking it was not tight enough.

In any event, bummer that what is surely a very inexpensive piece of plastic is probably going to result in the need to replace both complete foglight assemblies.

I used epoxy to glue it back together, I used epoxy to put atleast a dozen things together, mostly plastic. No problems at all, holds better then new.

The adjusting tabs are very delicate. I suggest they are broken when an attempt is made to remove the reflector. When I rebuilt my fog lights (replaced the glass lens only https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...ht-repair.html) I quickly backed off my disassembly until I figured how to twist off the reflector without placing any pressure on the tab.
