If you ended up only going with two guages you could use the center console section from a 90 or later C4. It has two holes: one for the AWD and one for the spoiler.

If the gauges were smaller I think I could do it. At 2 - 1/16 inches it would be cramped putting in two gauges. I see what you mean though.
