Autocross Pic
Here's a pic of my 964 literally tearing up the autocross course at the recent school.
Just seeing the picture brings back fond memories -- when I participate in events like that I really feel like I'm getting my money's worth from the 911!
PS Sorry about the image size -- Adobe Photo Deluxe couldn't successfully resize it.

[quote] They didn't make you have a roll bar?? Thought all of these events require that..

Slant,
Autocrosses generally don't require a rollbar for open cars. Driver's Eds generally DO require a rollbar for open cars.
Autocrosses are usually low speed events with lots of turns. On this particular course, I got into second gear and stayed there. The courses are set up so there's lots of margin for error if you make a mistake on a turn -- any solid obstructructions or curbs will not come into play. Therefore, there's little chance of a rollover accident.
Autocrosses are a lot of fun. If you ever wanted a chance to drive your car hard with minimal chance of hurting it, yourself, or an innocent bystander, give it a try!
[quote] Now that's an interesting point - with a convertible there's no problem with headroom when wearing a helmet..... Hmmmm...

Greg, since I'm 5'1", headroom is the least of my worries. But yes, convertibles do have their advantages.
