Post Uh Oh...put in wrong oil

I accidentally put in 1/2 quart of Mobil 1 Synthetic 15w50 instead of the regular dino Castro 20w50 to top off my C2.

Would this cause any harm? I don't think so, but wanted to make sure.

thanks,
anthony

Mobil 1 says it's compatible with regular oils.

A couple of years ago, I read that because of military requirements, all oils are compatible with all other oils. Anyone else heard/read this?

Dear Mark,
This is actually incorrect. It depends upon the application. Mixing as has occurred here will have no affect at all. It is not the oil itself that is the problem it is the additives that make the oil do what they want it to do that causes the problem.
Some oil you can mix or change out by topping up others you cannot.
Ciao,
Adrian
