Momo Steering wheel and Ruf suspension kit
Hi guys and girls,
I finally have the car of my dreams - lovely 90 White C2, bought from Cridfords in Surrey and lovelingly worked on (Post-purchase Inspection and some odds and ends) by GT-one - who are excellent!! Pete and Craig really know their stuff. Ok, enough of the endorsements! I added some 17" Boxster design rims and now need to replace the dampers as they are the originals, and after 113K miles, they are a little tired. I have checked the forum, but their is little detail on the the Ruf suspension kit. I was wondering if anyone had info on it vs H&R/Bilstein/Eiback etc. Also, I have a Momo steering wheel with the Porsche logo on it, and I lost the pull-out dead lock to the quick-release mechanism. Does anyone know if I can get a replacement.
Thanks
Mark

Dear Mark,
There is no objective information on these different suspension set ups. It is very personal. You have to decide what you want first. What is your goal. You do not say what your intentions are. The RUF kit is very good. However so are all the rest. It is not easy choosing. The softer ride without adjustment is the H&R/Bilstein set up (HDs). The H&R race set up is very stiff. Adjustable is via KONI but these parts for your model year are hard to find, especially the complete front sturts. You can install KONI inserts into the Boges you have and done well this is a good conversion.
EIBACH springs, well depends what set you get. You will not get an answer from the archives because many of us have very different set ups and likes. I am an EIBACH/KONI guy. Others are H&R. However you have to say what your intentions are and what you hope to achieve. On a rough road my C4 is very hard and drives like a go-kart. This is often too much for some people.

Don't forget that the Porsche Carrera RS suspension parts are also an option. Article on www.porsche964.co.uk describes the install on two 964's, one which is a 1990 which required some changes to accomodate the 1991 rear suspension geometry change.
