Post FVD Front Lip Spoiler

Has anyone installed the FVD Front Lip spoiler?
My question concerns the existing poly lip and undertray that is currently on the car. Does the FVD device overlay the existing lip? Looking at the pictures in the catalog it would seem that would be how it would be done?

Can't help you with the FVD, however, I'm leaning towards the RUF spoiler that screws into the existing plastic pieces, using the existing holes. Here's a picture of it:

Bill!

Neat piece of plastic! Do you have any idea how much it is? I think it's more beautiful than the FVD or the TechArt spoiler, and as I always wanted a subtle spoiler I might consider this one as the next thing to order for my car

Thanks in advance THOMAS

US $220 plus shipping. If you search previous 964 posts, someone posted a picture of their 964 with the RUF lip installed.

Guys,

Is there any actual advantage in installing this (ie: better front downforce) or is it mainly for the looks?

Bill!
Thank you for the info, it looks really nice, I'll let it go through my mind and probably end up buying the thing

Riccardo!
as far as I know the RUF philosophy, my P-specialist used to work for him in Pfaffenhausen, he's the sort of guy who does nothing just for the look of it. So I assume that the plastic piece is of use regarding downforce.

Thomas - I find the RUF website (Germany) a little empty on information and prices. How much is the lip spoiler from RUF?

Thanks

Riccardo,

I plan to install a fixed RS America/Carrera wing in the back, and am installing the RUF lip for some additional aerodynamic help in the front.

High,
Some more info, this lip is made of rubber, and it says 'Ruf' in the middle of it too!, I'm not sure of the Euro/dollar conversion, but it cost me 330 dollars; tax, shipping, and delivery charges included. there are pictures of it on vehicles at
www.stefaniacorp.com, easy installation too.,and yes it is supposed to provide greater downforce at high speeds! Peace.

Tried this link and I get a DNS failure. Are you sure this is right or is there a typo here?

Seems a little small to be effective, but I'd be willing to try it. I mean if the intent is to block air from moving under the vehicle versus the other approach of introducing and speeding up air under the vehicle to increase suction underneath.

What I really think would be neat would be to customize the flat rear engine undertray(that everyone seems to remove) with two channels ala F1, to speed the air below the rear of the car to increase suction at the rear. You'd lose some ground clearance because you'd have to drop the center of the tray to help form the channels, but it would be neat to try.

It is a bit of money to pay for a piece of plastic though....
