Chris, glad it worked out so well. The picture looks fantastic...what an improvement.
I LOVE the cheap cosmetic DIY's that cost little more than time and patience and yet have such dramatic and immediate impact!!!!

I painted mine a couple of years ago.
Bought the heat resistant spray paint from an autoshop.
Obviously remove existing rust first.
A few small spots of rust are beginning to show again now.

I used Rust-O-Leum protective enamel, oil-based, aluminum color. Got it at AutoZone. It goes on with a brush. It's a little runny but any paint that gets on the rotor face is gone after the first braking.
We'll see how it holds up....

Chris - looks great! How long did it take?
Where did you locate the jack stand? I had the front left wheel off this weekend and ended up putting my jackstand under the hub as I was not sure where else would be safe to locate it.

I'm no expert but here's where I put my jacks:
front
rear
What takes the most time is the sanding and waiting for the paint to dry to do the 2nd coat since it's so cold right now. It probably takes less than 5 minutes to paint each one.
I used a sander disc that fit on the end of my drill and that saved a lot of work. You'll have to use regular paper to get the little crevice right up against the disc because the drill sander will scratch the disc face up. And wear a mask. I was blowing all kinds of crap out of my nose after sanding the first one.
All in all, it's quite a nice cosmetic upgrade for all of about $10 worth of paint, sandpaper, and a little sanding disc.
