Leather loops on carpet under pedals
Whilst replacing all my carpeting, I remember noticing that a friend's C2 has the retaining loops at the top of the piece under the pedals arranged differently.
Might be a bit Anorakish (UK terminology!), but what was the 'factory' method?
I think mine have always had the leather straps passed first up through the metal loop, then back down again through the loop, leaving the end of the strap visible, so that (if you pulled hard enough) a tug on the end of the strap might pull it right out of the metal loops. I hope this makes some sense! (I'll call this Method A).
My friend's has the straps passed up over the front of the metal loop, then down through the loop and out of sight behind the top of the carpet. (Method B).
If no one knows the 'correct' method (some concourse nut must know!), then a quick survey of what's out there would be nice.

Now I remember!
I'd forgotten that there is a slit in the carpet just above the mounting point of each strap.
I'm sure I now have it installed as it always was - strap passed upwards through the metal loop on the floor, then brought back through the slot to the front face of the carpet, where it can be pulled tight.
Anyone like to confirm that their's does or doesn't look like this...

NOPE, mine have always been where the carpet has the metal loops going through the slits in the carpet and the straps just go up through the loops and point upward, and are above the carpet.
...but that doesn't mean it's the "correct" way either!
I would vote for any way that secures your carpet.
