Wheel bearing type hum after smash - what can it be??
After my minor smash, apart from alignment being out, I now have loud wheel bearing type hum coming from the rear. Engineer claims left rear though I think its from the side which hit the kerb, rear right. What, apart from wheel bearing could it be? I am worried that the force of impact may have ben transmitted along the right rear drive shaft....

John, seems I may have the same issue, on the side of impact...I get this harmonic while going down the highway.
I just happen to have a spare wheel bearing that I bought last year when I suspected a problem...so I'll be replacing it soon.
It's a job that's NOT for the faint of heart and requires quite the "pricey" tool.
