Post Fuel Cap Corrosion

Anyone else suffer with dreadful corrosion of the OE fuel filler cap threads?

Any ideas to defeat this, whilst retaining the standard cap?

(Note to Piers... How did you get on with the GTech meter last weekend and has it left to go to the next in line?)

Yep mine has this also. I have smeared a fine film of copper slip on mine to help the situation. I will get a new one when I finally get round to it, lots more other jobs to do first

I give mine a few smart wacks on petrol pump when refilling, a lot of debris comes off, better out of fuel tank than in!
