Default Fuel Filler Neck

I just finished 3 days of DE at Pocono raceway. I got Black Flagged on Friday because of fuel spilling out of the gas overflow. Just like the vast majority of previous posts, the filler neck needs replacing. I went through the rest of the sessions with a rag wrapped around the cap. At the end of each run, I wrung out a soaked rag and then stuffed it back in!

I've reviewed the archeives and will get a new filler neck and cap gasket.

My question is WHERE? I've checker our Rennlist sponsor websites and can't find any listing for the neck - is it available from aftermarket or do I go to Sunset Porsche for the part?

Part #is 964-201-043-03

I got mine from Pelican and they were both OEM parts. http://www.pelicanparts.com

I had mine replaced over a year ago and don't have the part numbers handy....
However, I do recall my conversations with my mechanic. He said that there have been several revisions to the fuel filler neck.
So to answer your question, yes it is available from PCNA over the counter. You'll have to check with the parts guy to find out what the latest and greatest part number / revision is.

Latest revision is -06, at least that is what the one I fitted last week was stamped as. It stopped my leak sucessfully.

The original part has been superceded twice with 964 201 043 03 and the most recent 964 201 043 06. The replacement is not difficult.

You may also want to check your gas caps; I just replaced a brand-new 3 day old defective gas cap that made for a really fun & interesting experience getting onto a highway. It was the second time that I've been completely sideways on a public road (only this time I was going a little faster).

I recently changed the gasket in the gas cap due to some gas smell when making sharp turns...

What are the sings for needing to replace the filler neck?

If replacing the gas cap gasket alone does not cure the fuel smell then the next step would be to replace the filler neck.
