I went to the Moderator part of this site where I have to log in, and it says "this user may upload avator max -1 to +1"....... I tried to upload there, but it won't work, even with super small pics.....
I contacted John Boggiano to see if he could help me.
Thanks

I just uploaded the pictures. Great picture, and the car looks very shiny! Hope that it works...

OK, since we are talking Avatars...
What software does one use to shrink a photo so that it still looks good? My existing Avatar is from a digital photo, and in its native size, its looks fabulous, but as you can see, shrinking it down introduces all sorts of problems.
I recently posted a full size pic of my car from a recent autocross (scanned from a print) and it looks pretty good. However, I suspect that if I shrink that down, it too will look a bit ragged.

If money is no object, use PhotoShop It does an excellent job.
If you want a 0.00 euro (or $) solution, check out ImageMagick. It does an equally excellent job
My avatar is a combination of 2 scans: one of a good original pic, the other of a not-so-good original pic. The result isn't half bad
Cheers,
JW
