I just can get the standard avator, I want a picture of my car on there. I can't find the possible way to do this.

Jump to Control Panel, select user control panel, then edit avatar.

Arjan,

You don't see an "upload photo" link all the way at the top? Hmm, maybe it is because you are a moderator and the setup is different...

Cheers

I went to the Moderator part of this site where I have to log in, and it says "this user may upload avator max -1 to +1"....... I tried to upload there, but it won't work, even with super small pics.....

I contacted John Boggiano to see if he could help me.

Thanks

OK, since we are talking Avatars...

What software does one use to shrink a photo so that it still looks good? My existing Avatar is from a digital photo, and in its native size, its looks fabulous, but as you can see, shrinking it down introduces all sorts of problems.

I recently posted a full size pic of my car from a recent autocross (scanned from a print) and it looks pretty good. However, I suspect that if I shrink that down, it too will look a bit ragged.

If money is no object, use PhotoShop It does an excellent job.

If you want a 0.00 euro (or $) solution, check out ImageMagick. It does an equally excellent job

My avatar is a combination of 2 scans: one of a good original pic, the other of a not-so-good original pic. The result isn't half bad

JW

Oh, and picking up on Arjan's comment: I'll be happy to convert you pic to avatar-size. Just send me a PM and we'll arrange it

Cheers,

JW
