Default Clutch wunderfull after slave repair.....

Yesterday I had the oppotunity to test under hot conditions the "hanging pedal syndrome" of the clutch.....

It worked wunderfull!!!! Even sanding in line after returing to the paddock, I could hold the pedal to the floor and it returned smoothly to the top on request.

So..... If you have the hanging clutch pedal, replace the slave cylinder on the gear box, and your problem is over.......

Arjan,
Good finding! I had the hanging clutch pedal, did a bleed about 6 months ago, and it seemed to go away. Interestingly, I did an autocross in my cabriolet two weeks ago, and when the car was HOT after a couple runs, the hanging pedal came back! Sounds like I could use a slave replacement at some point.

It's interesting that heat makes the symptoms worse!

The slave cilinder is on the hottest spot under the car, so that makes it logical. I think it will clamp because of the heat. I am happy it is solved.

Nice photo Garret!!

I also have a slightly hanging pedal, and will do this soon. I also want to get a 993 MC installed due to the RS brakes I now have installed. The pedal travel is slightly longer than before, and whilst not a problem at all I still don't like it...

I changed mine a month ago and it solved my problems also. The clutch feels like new!

Be carefull with the connection to the steel line to the front which is connected to the rubber hose of the slave cylinder.........! Replace the hose also! Strongly recomended!

Arjan, did you replace the slave yourself? I'm assuming this is not something for the faint of heart.

Yes, I replaced it myself, but while install the rubber hose, I broke the connection between the hose and the steel line which goes to the fron of the car. And because my car lift covers the middle tunnel of the car I couldn''t replace the line to the front , so www.lammertink-porsche.nl did this for me.

It's a diy job if you have the patience........
