Default 993 seats in a 964

I have an 89 964 C4 and would be keen to update the interior. I have been offered some seats, front (carbon backed) and back, and door and rear panels from a 993 turbo.

Will these fit, and the electrics work, in the 964 ?
How big a task is it to fit them ?

Thanks

David

This question comes up A LOT. I think ( a quick search will answer the question I'm sure) that you have to change the rails to make them fit. The issue then becomes do you want to pay for the expensive rails or can you find a decent used set...

Whether you need new rails will depend on what seats you have - standard 993 (including 993 sport seats) will, I believe, slot right in on existing rails etc.

Question steering wheel spacer? Sit height

As one of thel taller guys around I need to put the seat as far rear as possible. I can hardly reach the steering wheel so does anyone know if there is an after market spacer available for the original non airbag steering wheel? I know there are a lot of other optons but I would really like to keep the original wheel.

Next problem is that I have to sit lower than offered with standard (sports) seats, especially when using a helmet. Anyone know how much lower you get in the RS seats compared to standard seat in it´s lowest position? That is with the RS seat on rails not bolted to the floor.

Thanks for any hints,

Steffo

Phil... He hasn't even got C4 PFR/FOO yet and he's already updating the interior and fitting satnav! I tell you, it wouldn't have happened in my day. We'd have been thankful for a "period" pin-stripe cloth interior and something we quaintly called a "map" if I recall...

whether they fit or not, there are better seat options out there (lighter, more body hugging, designed for harnesses). Are you getting a particularly sweet deal on these?

I found the 993 seats really updated the look of my previous 964, and yes, they are a direct bolt in swap. The rails are the same.

I've got a set of 993 seats waiting to be installed into my 964 cab. What I found was that there is a difference in the electrical connectors between the 964 and my 993 seats. I am still trying to figure out how to go about it. My option is to move the 993 leathers to the 964 seat frame. Andy
