Alternative jack stand point
Just wondering if anyone sees any problem with resting the rear trailing arms on jack stands. Will this cause any undue stress to the suspension or chassis? Thanks.

Undue stress?
I really do not feel comfortable imagining you under the car and the stands under the
trailing arms. It can slip off easily. The only way I could sleep well would be if you would
put the stands properly under the jack points.
Lift the car with the jack under the engine, where it is the lowest. Place the stands under the jack points.
Let the car settle on them. Then place the wheels under the car as you did before, for safety, then fill the
gap with some pieces of wood.
Don't take any unnecessary risks.

Hey Brian,
This question comes up from time to time and usually gets a less than enthusiastic response. I'll speak for myself and say that jacking up your car is a potentially hazardous endeavor and that advising someone, who may or may not be well-versed in shop safety, on non-Factory jackpoints represents possible liability and is best avoided. I'd consult with a Porsche specialist for advice on this matter.
Certainly, this is nothing personal nor an opinion regarding your abilities. It's just a major CYA plus I would feel awful if any of my advice resulted in injury to yourself or your vehicle. Fair enough?
BTW, What are you trying to get at? Maybe it can be accomplished using the Factory jackpoints?
