As stated in a previous thread, us coastal residing Virginian's were lucky, once again...but some of our friends in Florida were not so lucky - it's plastered all over the news, Hurricane Charley took it's toll on Southern Florida.

How 'bout a "roll call" to see how some of our friends down South made out?? ...or didn't.

We got 100mph winds in Orlando and a real mess. Be nice to have some power again! Strange thing is my house on Gwynns Island on the bay in Virginia got wacked by Isabel last September! I am 2 for 2 years!

no damage to speak of in Gainesville (to the house anyway) - still waiting on news from the beach house in St. Augustine though -
p.s. i don't live there but boths sides of my family do - who knows i might be there soon as well

Sorry to hear of the damage in Orlando Jim, tough luck...you have AT LEAST two years good luck coming, the way I see it.

Rob (Cupcar) what is your affiliation with Gainesville, Fla.?? I frequently visit there as half of my family lives down there...you have residence there as well??

If so, we'll have to catch up sometime.

Really!!!! Small world - I grew up in G-Ville actually and am back there and in St. Aug 3-4 times a year visiting family. I personally don't live there (yet!) - but as circumstances dictate (see the "just something to think about" thread) i am actively looking to relocate to the the N. Florida area with G-Ville as the prime target (we will see if the job comes throught that i am presuing.

Glad to hear everyone else on the list is OK -
we should time a family trip together - there are some good bars downtown and some awsome food. G-Ville is a great place to live.

Ok in Naples, but what was our good fortune was someone else's problem and I feel badly about that
